Freddy Cory's last gig on Sunset Boulevard was at a hot spot, called The Central, a popular Sunset Boulevard club with a long history.
The Central was bought by Johnny Depp and became the Viper Room in 1993. Tom Waits had a hand in re-developing the spot. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers performed on opening night. Freddy's girlfriend, Pam put posters all over town on telephone poles. "I had a band. It was called Cory. Greg on drums. keyboard. Bob, our bass player was from Seals and Crofts. We got a rehearsal hall for $500 a month. We did one performance and that was enough for me. I knew I didn't want to do that."
